AMBASSADOR
Encourage attendance at regular meetings or make-up attendance when a meeting is missed. Furthermore, responsibilities include ensuring that any Rotarian who is ill or hospitalized receives cards, letters, and/or visits from fellow members, when appropriate. Ambassadors also follow up on recent graduates from the Tyrotarian Classification to insure continued involvement in club activities.

BOY SCOUTS
Sponsor the R. J. DeLano Boy Scout Troop. This troop is for orthopedically handicapped boys who could not otherwise participate in the scouting program. Approximately five Rockhurst College students assist the scoutmaster.

CAMP ENTERPRISE
Plan and execute a 2-day session at the Rotary Youth Camp for approximately 100 high school seniors each fall. The purpose of this seminar is to educate these young people in the principles of America's free enterprise system. Talent is needed in the following areas: planning sports and talent activities; transportation scheduling; discussion group leaders; panelists and counselors; program content.

CAMP GROUNDS
Involve members in maintenance/upkeep of "grounds"; keeping trees, shrubs trimmed; seek donations of seed, fertilizer, lawn care chemicals, plus plants to replace those that die; develop an ongoing grounds maintenance and long-range tree replacement program.

CAMP MAINTENANCE
Review maintenance needs at Rotary Youth Camp. Plan workday assignments. Committee members take responsibility for specific projects ach workday.

CAMP OPERATIONS
Assign committee members to coordinate with specific summer user groups on a year-round basis, so we can know and understand groups' special needs and limitations better; help them design their summer session to make it more meaningful to them.

COMMUNITY SERVICE
Research new ideas for community service projects that heretofore have not been recognized by our Club. Select projects that have a wide appeal and high potential for positively affecting our community.

CONFERENCE/CONVENTION
Promote attendance at the annual District 6040 Conference in April or May; promote attendance at the Rotary International Convention held in May/June.

CONSTITUTION/LEGAL AFFAIRS
Review and make recommendations to the Board of Directors on all matters of legal nature affecting the Club. Handle any grievance a member may feel against the operation of the Club-including the status of his/her membership.

DOWNTOWN
As The Downtown civic club, we have a responsibility to take part in any major effort to improve the area. Working with other civic organizations or acting on our own, this committee should develop one or two projects a year to make downtown more active and attractive.

ECOLOGY
Establish environmental leadership and awareness for Club members and community. Target issues to develop projects that will impact the environment favorably in the metro area. The goal is to have an environment of the highest quality in the Greater Kansas City area.

EDUCATION EXCELLENCE
To help improve Kansas City School District teacher and student performance and appreciation, by presenting awards to staff and student members of the most improved high school(s), junior high school(s) and five (5) elementary schools in the system. The Education Excellence Committee presents the Rotary meeting program during the last half of the year.

ENTERTAINMENT
Plan social events of interest to Club 13 members and their spouses. There is traditionally a formal Christmas dinner/dance, a family picnic in September at the Rotary Youth Camp, and assistance with the annual Changing of the Guard (COG) banquet, which will be under the direction of the new, incoming President. Also, there may be other events this committee will be called on for assistance.

FIRESIDE
Arrange at least three Fireside meetings per year: one in homes of host Rotarians during January/February; one at Club meeting (in lieu of speaker) in August; and one at business locations of members in May/June (in lieu of meetings). Form letter and suggested format are available from the Rotary office.

GREATER KANSAS CITY DAY/ROYAL ROUND UP
Major fundraising events selling special editions of the Kansas City Star to raise money for the Rotary Youth Camp. The American Royal is a partner for the Royal Roundup for Kids.

GREETING/MEETING ARRANGEMENTS
Be part of the group appointed to greet each person attending a Rotary meeting. The chairperson will assign specific meeting dates and ensure that at least three Tyrotarians are included in each group. Badges, flag and banner need to be set for meetings as well as take down and storing of equipment.

HISTORY
To preserve, display, promote and share the Club's history from 1910 to present. Catalogue and identify Club photos, films, and news stories, and organize all material.

INSURANCE
Review and continually update necessary coverage for the Club, Youth Camp, and directors and officers of the Club and Camp. Secure quotes and place insurance as required each year.

INTERNATIONAL SERVICE
Make arrangements for Rotary hosts for international visitors, host metro area American Field Service (AFS) students at a weekly luncheon meeting. It is also the Committee's responsibility to work with the district committee on the Group Study Exchange (GSE) and Friendship Exchange programs.

INTERNATIONAL YOUTH EXCHANGE
Coordinate annual short-term youth exchange program between youth of Club 13 member families and friends and metro area families and youth from Rotary families in designated foreign countries.

INVOCATION
Arrange for an appropriate invocation for all Rotary meetings, and when necessary, suitable memorials for those members who are deceased.

LITERACY KANSAS CITY
Support the goal of teaching adults to read by working in partnership with Literacy Kansas City. Our committee serves by encouraging volunteers to tutor individual students, by providing volunteers for Literacy Kansas City's committees and board positions.

MEMBERSHIP C & Q
Determine legitimacy of classifications for new member proposals; determine possible conflicts with present members; investigate classifications; evaluate business and personal ethics of candidates. Recommend qualified prospects to Board of Directors for final approval.

MEMBERSHIP DEVELOPMENT
Maintain a strong Club membership by continually reviewing the club roster of filled and unfilled classifications. Urge members to submit prospects for membership. Follow-up on all referrals to Club 13 for new members.

MEMORIAL
Plan and conduct an activity at the Youth Camp annually to honor Rotarians who have passed away during the year. This event usually takes place in mid-May and replaces the weekly luncheon meeting.

NEW MEMBER ORIENTATION

R. I. FOUNDATION/PAUL HARRIS/ BENEFACTORS/SCHOLARSHIP
Publicize availability of scholarships, fellowships and other educational awards available each year from the Rotary International Foundation. This information should be submitted to metro area colleges and universities. Interview and recommend candidates to the district for scholarships; continue to promote Club 13's participation as a Friend of the Foundation by contributing to the R.I. Foundation. Promote R.I. Paul Harris Fellow Program and R.I. Benefactor program. Work to increase the number of Paul Harris Fellows in Club 13.
